Ashburnham Golf Course is located in Burry Port, a short drive from Llanelli and is the most prestigious golf course in Carmarthenshire, South Wales.
It is one of the finest Championship Links courses in Britain and maintains to be classed as one of the top 10 golf courses in Wales. Currently ranked as the 6th best course in Wales by Golf World.
Chosen as a qualifying venue for the 2014 & 2017 Seniors Open Championship, this event is one in a long line of important events held here since the early 1900s when Harry Vardon, the six time British Open Champion said “The course I like best in Wales is Ashburnham.”
Pyle and Kenfig Golf Course with its lofty sand dunes hugging the South Wales coast of Porthcawl is situated in a wonderful stretch of golfing country. Glorious views and historic associations adorn this undulating course with its natural hazard of hillocks, valleys and towering dunes. Panoramic views, The Bristol Channel, the Gower Peninsula, Sker House and the magnificent Welsh Mountains can all be seen from various points.
Monk’s Island is a Nicklaus designed 7121 yard modern links championship golf course opening in 2005, which has already hosted an unprecedented 16 Championships, including 4 Royal & Ancient Championships and 4 Ryder Cup Wales LET Championships of Europe.
Monk’s Island is the youngest course to be awarded an R&A championship. Monks island is a thoroughly enjoyable golf course for the high handicapper whilst being a true test of golf for the low handicap golfer from the back tees. This is achieved by utilising up to 5 teeing areas per hole providing a golf course to enjoy whatever your ability.
Pennard is a classic rugged links course situated 200ft above sea level leading to it being known as “The Links in the Sky”. It is blessed with free draining ground, which remains playable all year round with tight lies, running fairways and firm fast greens.
Along with the unique golf course, there are fantastic views of the famous Three Cliffs Bay over to Oxwich Bay. If at any time in your round you are not scoring well, look at the views and we are sure it will bring a smile to your face and regain your confidence for what lies ahead. The front nine is a classic mix of strong par 3’s and 4’s with a solitary par 5. This warms you up for the challenge on the spectacular back nine.
From hole 10 the course and views just get better! The topography gets more severe and challenging with hole after hole moving out towards the Three Cliffs Bay over to Oxwich Bay. Stop for a moment and take in the view from green 16. You won’t be disappointed.
